TIMES OF DROUGHT
I’d rather tear down with love than build with hatred
We made the revolution with petals on our hands
No blood was lost and freedom found its end
Some folks long for a bright future as other remember the past
The youth is getting old, will hope ever last?
We built a new order, we had our say
Freedom of speech? I think we’re drifting away
The new world is close and we’re opening our doors
Our beliefs are dead, plain as a rotten sore
I’ve got no more patience, It makes no sense when I rhyme
(will the bell ever start to chime?)
I’m no longer patient, I’ve wasted so much precious time
In times of flood the water reigns
In times of drought it never rains
Who will educate our children? Who will feed’em later?
Who will take care of my early projects? The raper? The hater?
Who will carry my legacy? Wake me up from this nightmare.
Every time I dream I just want to be there.
You killed us twice…
The music plays on, the light’s still on while we’re off second after minute after hour after year.
A common face with a familiar smile, we vote, we support, we walk another mile.
2007 – there’s a hell, not a heaven. There’s a war and the Nobel goes to Al Gore.
The holocaust, there was a jew and there was Hitler.
There was Sendler but the list we know is of Schindler.
You killed us twice… but we’re still standing !!
